Rita Rosemary Cavilla Obituary

Rita Rosemary Cavilla, 75 of Newfield, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on December 6th 2017. My beautiful wife, best friend, life partner, gentle soul and kind spirit has been called to be with our Lord and Savior, and all the Angels.

She was born and raised in New York City. Her summer childhood was spent at Pop’s house in Mays Landing. She met the man of her dreams, Joe on a blind date in Astoria Long Island, which lead to a wonderful marriage of 58 years. Rita and Joe moved from the Bronx, NY to Egg Harbor City. She was employed by Collective Federal Savings and became the Office and Mortgage Settlement Manager. She then worked for the The Title Company of Jersey, as a branch Office Manager in Margate.

She enjoyed her grand and great grandchildren. Always looking for ways to teach them by playing games, reading and singing songs with them. She liked to crochet, read, loved to fish, go boating and the puppies. She loved gardening, and growing plants from seed.

Rita was a devoted wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She treasured her time with them all. Her kindness, gentleness and thoughtfulness will forever be missed. She will be missed dearly, but forever remembered loving by her devoted husband Joe, someday to meet again, two children Ellen and Joe, two grandchildren Christine Hoag (Pete) and Thomas Cavilla, four great grandchildren Andrew, Vincent Chase, Juliana and Isabella Hoag. Her sisters Nancy Remy (Rich), Irene Kolb, brother Joe Kelly (Monica), Aunt Mary Frohman, cousin Barbara Lutz and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Pat Baldi (Jim).

Family and Friends may gather in her memory at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Hwy, Mays Landing, NJ on Tuesday, December 12th from 9am -11am, where a Mass will be held at 11am. Burial immediately following at Union Cemetery in Mays Landing.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
