Rita Jo Sulprizio, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, entered eternal life peacefully surrounded by family at home on January 8, 2012. Born June 14, 1942 in Hinton, West Virginia and raised in Cedarville, NJ, Rita spent the majority of her adult life in Atlantic County. After owning and operating a salon, Rita decided to enter the Casino Industry, starting her career at Caesar’s. She also worked at Bally’s, Hollywood Casino in Illinois, and Harrah’s, AC. A consummate storyteller and teacher of life; Respected, Intelligent, Talented, and Admired by all who were fortunate to have known her. Rita will be sadly missed and is survived by daughters Barbara Sulprizio of Margate, Jennifer (Mark) Narciso of EHT, and Julie (Bill) Strain of Ocean City; sons Carlo Sulprizio and Dean Sulprizio both of Stuart, FL; grandsons David Mangano of Margate, Angelo Leotta and Taylor Leotta of Ocean City; and granddaughter Chelsea Sulprizio of Stuart FL; sisters Joanne (John) Melniczuk of Cedarville and Angelina (Fred) Lilly of Millville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Helen and Pat Patitucci, sister Esther Atkinson, and former husband Robert Sulprizio. Relative and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Rita’s life on Thursday, January 12, from 10 AM – 12 Noon at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will be held at 12 Noon. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, South Jersey Region, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 or www.cancer.org.
