Robert Bachinsky

Robert “Bob” David Bachinsky, 87, of Mays Landing, NJ passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2017. Robert was a loving husband to Marian (nee Bowes) and together they just celebrated 60 years of marriage. Born November 13, 1929 in St. Clair PA, son of the late John and Catherine Bachinsky. He was brother to Carl (Peggy), Gene (Mary), and preceded in death by John (Joan). Bob received an honorable discharge for military service from the Air Force in 1954, and was a Korean War Combat Veteran. He attended Drexel University receiving his Bachelors and Ph.D in Physics, and also received a Masters in Engineering from Villanova University. Bob worked at RCA, GE, and MIT as a radar engineer. Loving father to David R. Bachinsky, (We want to thank Judi O’Hara, Paula Hegarty and families for their kindness to our son David during his illness), Cheri Foy (Jerry), Stephen Bachinsky (Shari), and Gary Bachinsky (Gwendolyn). Also a loving Pop to 9 grandchildren David F. Bachinsky, Jennifer (nee Foy) Wells (Christoper), Jonathan Foy, Jeffrey Foy, Julianne Foy, Christopher Bachinsky, Andrew Bachinsky, Haley Bachinsky, and Lauren Bachinsky. Bob cherished his nieces, nephews, and so many wonderful friends he met through his life. Bob was a lifelong learner who remained mentally sharp throughout his uphill battle after a life altering stroke in 1995. He enjoyed playing golf, skiing various mountains (most notably those in Vermont), and spending time with family and friends. Bob was known for his sage advice and often funny stories that went along with that advice. His memory will be treasured always. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 18, 11 AM at the Church of St. Katharine Drexel, 6077 West Jersey Ave., Egg Harbor Township, where family and friends may gather from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow at the Atlantic Co. Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor.
