LAFFERTY, ROBERT C. Age 83, of Mays Landing, formerly of Gloucester Township, N.J., passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 10, 1925, Robert was the son of Charles and Emma Lafferty of Philadelphia. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Irma (nee Charlesworth), and their pet, Pepe; survived by his sons Robert Jr. (Rose) of Williamstown, Randolph (Deb) of Mays Landing, Ronald (Lewann) of Mickleton, and Richard (Sandi) of Marlton Lakes; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother Russell (Bette); his sister Elaine (John) Platt; and numerous nieces and nephews. The gift that Robert had was the gift of music that he shared with many throughout his life. Starting at a very early age, he became active in church music, and was a Minister of Music at several churches, most recently at the First Presbyterian Church of Somerdale, NJ. He was a music teacher at Thomas Junior High in Philadelphia, PA, and retired after over 40 years of service, and a private teacher to hundreds of students. Robert was a member of various organizations, most notably the American Guild of Organists and the Philadelphia and American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO. Mr. Lafferty will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all of those whose lives he enriched. Services will be private. Donations may be made in Robert's memory to the Salvation Army, P.O.
