McEvoy, Robert "Pete", age 78 of Mays Landing, passed away on Sept. 1, 2007, after a prolonged battle with leukemia. Survived by devoted & loving former spouse, best friend and caregiver, Denise McEvoy. Beloved father of Karen Turner of Surf City, NJ; Kevin McEvoy & wife Judy of Scarsdale, NY; and Kelly McEvoy & partner Ellen Alch, of Manchester, CT. Wonderful "Pop-Pop" to 5 grandchildren Jack, Max, Leisha, Tracy & Amy and 4 great-grandchildren. Adored uncle to Linda, Leslie, John and Chris. Cherished brother-in-law to Leah Collyer with whom he shared a special bond, and many more nieces, nephews and friends & family. An Air Force veteran, he served his country in Korea and then for an additional 20 years with tours in Spain, Germany, and Virginia. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all those who helped him during the past year, including the many friends and veteran associates of Mr. McEvoy. Special thanks also to the staff of the Dr. Nassar Borai Cancer Center and the staff of the RNS Cancer Center, who provided excellent and compassionate care. Services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 4 at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 114 Route 50, Mays Landing, NJ. 08330. Viewing from 10-11, mass at 11:00am.
