Robert Wallace

Robert F. Wallace, Sr., 81, of Mays Landing, peacefully went to his heavenly home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 2, 2009. Originally from Glassboro, NJ, Bob served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of VFW Post 679 of Glassboro and American Legion Post 28 of Millsboro, DE. He lived most of his life in Atlantic County where he worked as an enforcement official. He retired to fishing and boating in Delaware for several years before returning to Atlantic County and settling in the Oaks of Weymouth to spend time with family and friends. Throughout Bob's life, his passion was music and singing in barbershop and gospel quartets. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten by his loving wife of 38 years, Lois; his children: Fay Wallace of Williamstown, Robin (John) Lee of Buena, Robert F. Wallace, Jr. of Vineland, Elizabeth (David) Birch of Mays Landing, and Joseph (Debra) Baumgarten of Mays Landing; his siblings: Beverly (Robert) Barranger of Sedalia, MO, Arlean (John) Keller of Glassboro, Richard (Lucy) Lipko of Audubon, and Carol Zelenski; his grandchildren: Jeffrey, Matthew, Krystin, Christopher, Joseph, Victoria, Robert, Olivia, and Daulton; and his great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Mikayla, Taylor, Dylan, and Matthew. Services will be held on Friday, 12 Noon, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where a viewing will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Atlantic Co. Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AtlantiCare Hospice, P.O. Box 1626, Pleasantville, NJ 08232 or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Int'l, 120 Wall St., 19th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
