Ron’s naval background and analytical interests led him to become a Systems and Telemetry Engineer while working on Apollo missions. While living in Oregon, Minnesota, California, and South America, Ron played an integral role in the early days of the space program, most notably Apollo 8, the first manned lunar orbit mission, Apollo 11, the first lunar landing, and the safe return of the Apollo 13 astronauts. After the last Apollo missions Ron began his career as a contractor for the Navy moving him from Mississippi to New Jersey. He retired with Northrop Grumman, in Mt. Laurel, NJ, as the Senior Systems Engineer supporting AEGIS contract where he specialized in Naval Combat Systems. As an avid golfer, fisherman and sports enthusiast, Ron was a lover of life and loved by all he touched. He brought joy to all that knew him and will be deeply missed by his beloved Maggie, family, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 2, 11 AM, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Hwy, May’s Landing, where family and friends may gather from 9-11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Church. In the memo line, write in memory of Ronald LaBrosse for the Stained Glass Window Fund.
