Ruth Judge

Judge, Ruth (nee: Kizer), 82, of Mays Landing, died peacefully in her home on May 25, 2009 in the presence of her children following a short illness. Ruth worked for many years at NAFEC as a secretary in the maintenance division. During her years of service, she received numerous certificates of recognition. Prior to that, she worked at the Surrogates Office of Atlantic County. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Edward. During their years together, they created and operated an annual "Christmas Extravaganza" at their home in Harding Lakes. For over 30 years families brought their children to meet Santa and enjoy the beautifully decorated yard. For their efforts, the Judges were recognized by the local Chamber of Commerce in 1997 with the Good Neighbor Award. Ruth is survived by her brother David (Lois) Kizer. She is survived by four children: Eileen Berglund, Dan (Suzanne), Linda (Tom) Randall, and Tom (Joanne); four grandchildren: Melanie (Troy) Jones, Michelle Jorgensen, Gene Randall and Dan Judge Jr. (Beth); two great-grandchildren: Tristan and Devan Jones; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 11 AM, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where a viewing will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Atlantic Co. Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Ruth's name to the First Baptist Church of Egg Harbor, 234 London Avenue, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215 or the Presbyterian Church of Mays Landing, 6001 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
