Salvatore James Valiante (Sal), 85, left this world to be with the Lord on November 19, 2014 surrounded by his family.
Sal was a Harness Horse Trainer and Driver since 1955. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, a member of the Atlantic City Barber Shoppers and was employed by the State of New Jersey at the Atlantic County Transitional School.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Minerva; and six living sons: James (Brenda), Robert (Joyce), Sal Jr. (Laura), Stephen (Diane), Thomas (Denise), and Michael (Mary). He is predeceased by his son David. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and extended family members Michael Frank (Cindy), Danny Gajlkowski, and Dona Twaddle.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 25, at 11 AM, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Highway, Mays Landing, where friends may gather from 9:30 until the time of the Mass. Committal services and military honors will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or St. Vincent de Paul Church.
