Steven Carrozzo Obituary

Steven Anthony Carrozzo “Rambo”, born March 8, 1948, has fought a long battle with cancer. He peacefully went with our Lord on Tuesday night, February 16, 2011. Our brave soldier is now at peace with the Lord. Raised in Uniondale, Long Island, NY, he graduated from Uniondale High School in 1966 and joined the Army in 1967. This brave soldier was a Vietnam veteran and a Purple Heart combat veteran who loved his country and was a proud American Veteran through and through. “Rambo” was the President of VVA Chapter 327 in Kenvil, NJ. He was very devoted to all veterans, his country, and family, with a “big heart of gold.” He graduated from Dowling College in the 1970’s and worked in retail management during his lifetime. He and his wife Barbara recently moved to Mays Landing, NJ. “Rambo” had made the cut to become an alternate on the TV Show “Survivor” in 2000 and called back a again a second time in 2003. He was a loving husband to wife Barbara; a wonderful father to son Steven , Jr., always looking forward to seeing his granddaughter Jordyn Catherine Harper; and a caregiver and loving son to his father Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his mother Antoinette. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, at 11 AM, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ where friends may gather from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment with military honors will be in the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor.
