Sylvia “Nan” Schumann, 95, of Mays Landing, NJ, passed away at home on December 18, 2017. Nan was born in Shirley Massachusetts and predeceased by her parents William and Ursula Gionet. One of 17 children, she is survived by her sister Agnes, brother Alexandre, her daughter Candice Brody (Robert) of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Nan was affectionately known as “Meema” to her grandchildren David Cabo (Rosina) of Arlington, VA and Jennifer McCartney (Scott) of Egg Harbor Township, NJ., and her great grandchildren Matthew and Lauren McCartney and Marianna and Sebastian Cabo. Nan was a devout Catholic and loved to visit shrines all over the world. She was an avid bridge player and was still playing weekly. “Meema” will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate her memory on Thursday, December 21, from 5-6:30 PM at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing. A memorial Mass will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 724 Maple Ave., Linwood at 7:15 PM. Additional Services: Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate her memory at St. Benedict Abbey, 252 Still River Rd., Harvard, MA on Saturday, December 23 from 9:30-10 AM, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Shirley, MA.
