Thomas Lewis

Thomas V. Lewis - 73 of Mays Landing passed away after a brief illness on February 9, 2009 surrounded by his loving family at his bedside. Tommy was a beloved husband of 41 years to Eileen (McGilly-Yhlen), stepfather of David Yhlen and his wife Kathleen of Sewell NJ, loving grandfather of Megan, LaPlata Md., Colin and Andrew Yhlen of Sewell NJ and devoted brother of Margaret Lewis, Fort Lauderdale Fla. and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by sisters Hanna Morgan, Sister Josette Lewis, Elizabeth Bergen, Dorothy Grise and brothers Joseph, Edward, and Robert Lewis. Tommy was born in Swoyersville Pa. and also resided during his life in Kearny and Neptune City NJ. He was a retired tile and floor laborer for Carpenters Union 2212, Union NJ. Before retirement, he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degrees serving as Faithful Navigator in Brick Township NJ. In retirement, Tommy enjoyed social events with his many friends at the Fairways Community in Mays Landing as well as regular trips to the casinos. Family and friends are invited to Boakes Funeral Home 6050 Main Street Mays Landing NJ on Friday February 13, 2009 from 2:00PM - 4:00PM and 7:00PM - 9:00PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 14, 2009 at 10:30AM at the Church of Saint Katharine Drexel 6077 West Jersey Avenue Egg Harbor Township NJ, where friends may call beginning at 9:30AM.
