Thomas Martino

Thomas A. Martino, 92, “Pop-Pop” of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2012. Born in Philadelphia February 6, 1920 then moving to Egg Harbor City in 1937, he served his country with honor in the US Army Air Force during World War II (1942-1945). A Drexel Institute of Technology Graduate in 1949, he retired as a Regional Sales Manager with Reynolds Metals Co. after a successful business career in 1982. Tom loved life and lived it to the fullest as a 21 year resident of Medford Lakes. He greatly enjoyed his wonderful family and many friends. His favorites included golf and cards at Medford Lakes Country Club, fishing with the grandkids, holiday celebrations, the Jersey shore, Philly sports, and pool and bowling with friends. Preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Anna (nee: Burke) Martino, daughter Peggy, sister Rita, and brothers Carmine and James, he is survived by his caring wife of 63 years Margaret (nee: Kaenzig); his children: Cindy (Bob) Matthews, Tom (Nettie) Martino, Rick (Eileen) Martino, and Pattie (Jim) Heisler. He will be missed by his grandchildren: Chris, Brett, Keri, Tommy, Nicole, Troy, Andrew, Ben, Alex, and Nick; and his great-grandchildren Skylar and Trevor. Family and friends may gather for his memorial service on Monday, December 10, from 10-11 AM, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Highway, Mays Landing followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Interment will follow at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory will be accepted by the Alzheimers’ Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 25 Dolphin Ave., Northfield, NJ 08225.
