Vincent Cimadori

Vincent Alfred Cimadori A good solid man, born in NYC on January 18, 1933; he left the world a better place for having been in it: March 21, 2013. Born (first generation) to Alexander Cimadori, an immigrant of Northern Italy and Lucille Gilmore Staples, from Kingston, Jamaica, that met in NYC. Growing up in Washington Heights, NY, Vince was introduced to all of the ethnic groups that brought their culture, their music, their literature. They melted into the American Pot, in search of the American Dream. Vince’s father, Alex taught dancing at the Fred Astaire dance studio. His parent’s taught him about life, beauty, responsibility, self-respect and love. Vince’s aspirations were to be a ballplayer and as a kid he played ball sun up to sun down. A fine middle infielder, he played several years with the minor league team in the Bronx. He loved baseball. A call to serve came in the Summer of 1950. Vince proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, training as a field radio operator in San Diego, CA. Stationed state side, his continued training commitment to his country never waivered. He served in the reserves for several years after his honorable discharge. Vince couldn’t get enough of life, nor of the things he loved best; flowers, birds, gardens, the ocean, sunshine and people. Mom-mom and Vince left the City life and settled in South Jersey. He met Shirley (Schwent), married and were blessed with sons. He worked as a Photo Lithographer for NAFAC with his dear friend Jack Hansell. A career change in the seventies, he opened Cimadori Construction, specializing in new homes. Vince also worked at Blue Print Services for many years. During the eighties, he as owner/operator, opened two dry cleaners in Northfield and Harbor Village Cleaners in EHT with Aunt Pat. Vince finished his career as a facilities supervisor in 2003 with Days Inn also in EHT. Predeceased by Father Alex and Mother Lucille, Step Father Harry Staples and baby son, Mark.
