Vincent L. Witmer, of Mays Landing, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Winnie. They were married for 40 years. Vince was the son of Oscar and Tina Witmer, formerly of Ocean City, NJ. Born March 31, 1946 in Laurel, MD, he attended Ocean City H.S. Vincent was recognized by all who know him as a caring peacemaker. He helped everyone he knew. He loved children, and did volunteer work the children of Atlantic County JINS shelter. He was a master carpenter and project manager. He served on the Hamilton Township Board of Education, and in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed traveling, camping, hiking, reading, photography, and spending time with the grandchildren. He was a devoted father to Donna, John and Tracy, Michael and Starr, and Vincent and Heather. He was dearly loved by his grandchildren Corinne, Shelby, John, Shawn, Jenna, and Jason. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Audrey, Helen, Francine, Marvin, Sandy, Taimi, Marjory, Donna, Thelma, Toini, and John; and a large extended family. Viewing will be held at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ on Tuesday, March 5 from 3 until 5 PM, followed by remembrances of family and friends.
