William Laws

William E. Laws, of Mays Landing, N.J. died peacefully on January 13, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Emma (Schwartz), his daughter Doris (Daniel) Kelly, sister-in-law Doris(Ron) Krueger, his grandchildren Erin (Mark) Kentos, Daniel (Kristine) Kelly Jr. and Katy (Anthony) Battelini He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Charlotte Kelly and Anthony Battelini Jr. Born in Bridgeton, New Jersey on May 8, 1931, he resided there until he moved his family to Mays Landing in 1964. In 1995 he and Emmy moved to Grand Island, Fla. until recently moving back to Mays Landing. Bill served in the Army National Guard from 1949 until 1952. He was then stationed with the US Army in Wurtzburg, Germany from 1953 until 1955 where he met the love of his life Emma. Upon returning, he was employed at Kimble Glass where he supervised the Graphics Department until his retirement in 1986. Bill was also a licensed Real Estate Salesman for Olsen Real Estate. Bill was a member of the Mays Landing Rotary Club where he served as President in 1975. He was a perfectionist and was meticulous in in every facet of his life. He was a HAM Radio enthusiast and also loved to build furniture for his family Bill’s warm smile and generous heart will be missed by all knew and loved him. Services will be held at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 9 AM to 11 AM with services immediately following at 11 AM. Burial will be held at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery on Route 50 in Estell Manor.
