Young Hwan Kim, 86, of Egg Harbor Twp., passed away on December 23, 2016. Young was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, and moved to N.J. in 1987. He was predeceased by his wife Ok Nyu Kim, sister Young Ok Kim, and his great-granddaughter Julissa Silapheth. Young is survived by his three sisters Young Ae Kim, Young Soon Kim, and Young Joon Kim, three children, Ki Hyun Kim (Jung Sook), Hye Young Kim, and Ki Jin Kim (In Sook), his grandchildren, Sherry Silapheth (Kosonh), Se Yong Kim (Hee Eun), Mindy Yeon Cortes (Rob) and Se Ho Kim (Janice), and his great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Julian, Jecette, Jaylon, AJ, and Elijah. Young Hwan's parents passed at a very young age, so being the only male of 4, he was a hard working man at a very young age. Even until his mid 80's he always needed to do things himself, his determination was very admirable. He couldn't wait to wake up the next morning to be able to play with his great grandchildren. He would even walk around the house with his cane while holding their hands to teach the last two grand-grandchildren how to walk. We all want to say thank you to this hard working man who always knew the value of working hard and playing hard. He never wanted to miss a beat, miss raising a glass to cheers, or miss cake at a celebration. His love for animals, love for sports, love for fishing, and his special stash of goodies and alcohol will never be forgotten. His great grandchildren will miss looking for the new hiding place for the new goodies in his room. He was always the first one to check out the Halloween goodies.
