Zay Hyde

Zay (Mary Elizabeth) Dunphy Hyde, 88, died October 6, 2019 at Brandall Estates in Linwood, NJ. Zay is survived by her five children Ellen (Tony) Pace, Fr. Robert Hyde, Alison Purvis Hill (Ian), Anne Carson (Jack), Bill (Sue MacDonald), her sister Anne O’Reilly and seven grandchildren. Zay was a graduate (1948) of Mount St. Joseph’s (Brighton MA) and (1952) Regis College (Weston MA) where she studied Library Sciences. She worked and volunteered as a librarian. Zay had a loving marriage with her husband, Bob Hyde, who died in 1988. Although born in Boston, Zay's adventurous spirit led her to live many places, including Duxbury MA, Cleveland OH, Acton MA, Grosse Pointe Farms MI, Darien CT, Cazenovia NY, Longs SC, Yarmouthport MA, and Easton PA before moving to Linwood NJ in 2013. Zay’s many interests included golf, reading, equestrian sports, Jack Russell Terriers, travel, her children and grandchildren and her Catholic Faith. Arrangements: Funeral Mass at St. Nicholas Church, Egg Harbor City NJ, 6:30 pm Saturday, October 12, 2019. Internment at Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury, MA at a later date.
