PLEASANTVILLE—Russell S. Robison was one of this nation’s finest – who honored us with service—giving his very best, died at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point on Saturday, June 20, 2020, after a struggle with cancer. He was 76.   Russell, affectionately called Sammy, Raspberry, Razzmatazz, Razz or Russ of Pleasantville, NJ was a good son, brother and husband. Born at 6AM on Thursday, December 23, 1943 in Winston Salem, NC. The firstborn of the late Russell T. and Naomi Carter Robinson. He attended elementary schools in Winston Salem, NC and Atlantic City, NJ. A 1963 graduate of Atlantic City High School. Russell advanced his educational pursuits at the Atlantic Cape Community College, Stockton University and a number of training schools. During his lifetime, Russell was employed with various businesses within Atlantic City and New York. Russell was a retired disabled veteran. He served in the United States Army in the Viet Nam War. He received high distinctions as a member of the Atlantic County Veterans Advisory Board; serviced three years as Commander of the Atlantic County American Legion; life member and three-years Past Commander of the American Legion Mainland Post 81 (Pleasantville); five years Past Senior Vice-Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars District 16; life member and ten years Adjutant/Quartermaster of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bruce Gibson Post 6594 (Pleasantville); life member of the Disabled American Veterans Steven Villo Chapter 70 (Northfield); and life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 0825 (Mays Landing). Russell was a meticulous, conscientious individual who was also very caring. He loved and devoted himself to his family, friends and associates. Russell is notorious for playing cards and watching Sci-Fi movies. His passing has changed the dynamics of our small world. Russell (Sammy) was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald and sisters, Thelma and Janice Richardson. He leaves to always love and cherish his memory his wife, Audrey; Stepdaughter, Angelita Cherry (Ronnie) of Winston Salem, NC; seven Brothers: Larry, Eddie and Michael of New York City; Donald (Louise) of Lumberton, NC, Darwin of Philadelphia, PA, Stephen (Tammy) of Pennsauken, NJ and Gregory Kimbrough of Winston Salem, NC; four Sisters: Patricia King (David) of Pleasantville, NJ, Sandra Robinson of Atlantic City, NJ, Beverly Robinson of Bayside, NJ and Kimberly Gaddy of St. Albans, NY; Aunt, Alice of Winston Salem, NC; Sister-in-Laws: Marsha Rooks and Cheryl Wiggins (Schwab); Brother-in-Laws: Clayton Davis and Arthur Gray; Step Grandchildren and Step Great Grandchildren; along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
