Ruth Dawn (Biddle) Canale, 83, of Egg Harbor Township, passed away quietly December 16th. Ruth had worked for the Egg Harbor Township School System, the Atlantic City School System and then retired from Pine Lands High School. She supervised the cafeterias in all of these schools. The children that attended while she was there still remember the great food she served and school parties she catered. Ruth was a member of the Bargaintown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for many years and assisted with the Egg Harbor Township Youth Organization with her husband Charles and fellow Egg Harbor Township residents, spending many hours making uniforms and arranging fund-raising events to support the organization. She was also a member of the Egg Harbor Township Republican Club for many years. Ruth was born in Pittsburg, PA on March 8, 1926 and was a resident of Linwood and then spent most of her life in Bargaintown, Egg Harbor Township. After raising their children, Ruth and Charlie enjoyed spending their leisure time together in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Ruth is predeceased by her loving husband, P. Charles Canale; and by her parents, Ruth and Edward Biddle. She is survived by her loving sons, Charles Canale and his companion Maryjane Roseman, Frank and Linda Canale, Edward and Charlene Canale, Gary and Roseann Canale; daughter-in-law, Iris Canale; grandchildren, Frank, Dana Canale, Edward Canale, Jr., Timothy and Heather Canale, Kevin and Alyssa Canale, Gina (Canale) and Jamie Petersen, Gary Canale, Jr. and his companion Kristen Jacques, Lisa Torquati and Vincent Torquati; great-grandchildren, Cody, Matthew, Madison, Kaylee, Brandee, Lyndsee Canale and Olivia Petersen. She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Marie and her husband Edward Guerro and Florence Miraglio along with her sister-in-laws, Agatha Loflin of Estell Manor and Grace Sullivan of Northfield, along with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her Uncle Wes and his wife Ann Leopold and Uncle Al and his wife Helen Leopold, along with many nieces and nephews and their children, spouses and cousins. A Viewing will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 from 10-11am at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, where a service will begin at 11. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company, 6550 Mill Road, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234 or to the Egg Harbor Township Youth Orgainization, 3515 Bargaintown Road, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234, or to the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Services, 3125 Fire Road, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
