Jose Ignacio Fernandez Passaic, New Jersey Obituary

Jose Ignacio Fernandez

Jose Ignacio Fernandez (65) of Garfield, passed away on Friday, November 20th, 2020. He is survived by his beloved wife Maria of forty-three years, his loving daughters and their spouses Michelle and Brandon Jaworski, Idania and Joseph Algieri and adored by his grandchildren Blake (5), Joseph Jr (5), Noelle (4) and Cole (1). He was born on March 19th, 1955 in Mariano, Cuba. His parents, Dalia and Manuel Fernandez, selflessly sent him to the United States when he was 14 years old to live with his Aunt and Uncle in hopes of achieving the American Dream; only to be reunited with them 10 years later. Once arriving in America he was raised in the Bronx, NY. He married the love of his life on September 2, 1977. Aside from enjoying the majority of their time at home together, they loved to travel, going out to eat and spending time with their family. Jose was an avid Yankees and Giants fan and worked for Bustelo Coffee Company for 30 years.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29th, 2020 from 2:00pm-6:00pm in Alvarez Funeral Home (Funeraria Alvarez), 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Burial will take place on Monday, November 30th, 2020 at 10:30am in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1 Outwater Lane, Saddle Brook NJ. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that any donations be made to www.research4ryan.org an AVM Research Foundation.
