Olabisi A. Obahnjoko (Victoria Stephens) passed away at the age of 75 on Thursday, 2:57 Am on April 30th, 2020 at King David Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brooklyn, New York(Coney Island). She was born October 22, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York to Naomi(Mother ) and Ward (Biggie) Stephens(father). Olabisi graduated from Clara Barton High School, she then proceeded to acquire various jobs as a secretary which then led to her working in a private sector for nursing. She was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers: Ward and Ernest Stephens. She had four children: Edward Grinage (Hassan Abdul), Keith Grinage (Omar Kenyatta), Ursula Christine Grinage (Angola) and George Smith (Ade). Her son Omar and daughter Ade also preceded her in death. Olabisi became an advocate for black power in the early 70’s and was affiliated with the original black panther party and remained committed throughout her life to living and educating anyone who met her about the importance of our heritage, our roots and our health. She enjoyed dancing and having fun. Olabisi enjoyed her time with her family She leaves behind to mourn two of her children (mentioned above), two daughters-in-law, Solange Janelle Grinage,wife of Edward Grinage and Salerna, wife of Keith Grinage, one sibling, Esther Walker of Tyner, NC., seven grandchildren Asia Temeka, Shaquana Ayana, Gerald Leonard, Lovelyn Juanita, Leo Gordon, Chesla Vigier and Talia Grinage, great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to express sincere thanks for all acts of kindness shown as we mourn the loss of Olabisi. Peace and Black power ✊🏾✌🏽
