Beatrice Brechka

Piscataway – Beatrice, “Bea” Brechka, 90, passed away peacefully on, June 19, 2017 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater. Born and raised in Piscataway to the late Anthony and Catherine Valenti, Bea grew up in her parents’ home, and went on to marry the late George S. Brechka, before moving next door into the home her father built for them; where they raised their family. Mrs. Brechka was an Administrative Assistant with Rutgers University, Cook College Campus, Extension Finance Department, for forty-six years, before her retirement. Bea was an active member of the Piscataway Senior Citizens, the Piscataway Democratic Social Club, and a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Piscataway. She was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Bea enjoyed bowling, loved learning and always enjoyed reading. She was also the valedictorian of her 8th grade class. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and always made everyone feel very welcome in her home. She was preceded in death by her five siblings and her beloved husband George in 1985. Surviving are her loving children, Marie Drake and George Brechka, her cherished grandchildren, Kathleen Phil and husband John, Christopher Drake, Erika Brechka, and her great granddaughter, Kallie Marie Phil, as well as her extended family. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:45am on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the funeral home, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Thursday, June 22nd at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, Piscataway. Interment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
