Genevieve Settineri

Genevieve "Gen" Settineri, 93, of Montclair, New Jersey, formerly of West Orange, NJ, died peacefully at home on September 11, 2019. Born February 14, 1926 in Newark, NJ, she is predeceased by her late husband Vincent Settineri, her parents, Ralph and Maria Stolfi of Newark, NJ, her two brothers Joe and Vito Stolfi, and three sisters, Anne Cozzi, Edith Gerardi and Rita Passalaqua. After raising her family she earned her teaching and master’s degree from Kean College in Union, NJ and taught Special Education at the Essex County Vocational School in West Caldwell, NJ. She enjoyed the warm weather and often traveled to Florida in the winter until a few years before her passing. Gen is survived by her sister Gloria Toner of Fairfax, VA, her three children, Donna Restaino and her husband Alfred, Richard Settineri and his wife Laura, and Frank Settineri and his wife Susan. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jason Settineri and his wife Nichole, Gregory Settineri, Alicia Crouse and her husband Bill, Christopher Settineri, Alex Settineri and Katherine Settineri, and by her four great-grandchildren, Joseph Settineri, Anthony Settineri, Dominick Crouse and Nicholas Crouse. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Raphael’s Church at 346 East Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039 on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 10:00 am. Visiting will be offered one hour prior to the Funeral Mass in the church. Funeral Services are held under the direction of Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, Roseland, NJ.
