Kenneth Fischetti

Kenneth (Ken) Fischetti, of Woodland Park, NJ, passed away on January 4, 2020. He was 67 years old. Ken was an IT Project Manager at Blue Cross/Blue Shield and IBM for the majority of his career. Most recently, he was an Adjunct Professor of History at Montclair State University. He also dedicated a significant amount of time to volunteer organizations focused on hunger relief and development opportunities for inner city youth. Ken was a warm, loving and dedicated spouse, father, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his friendliness, athleticism, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Whether engaging in conversation or breaking a move on the dance floor, he was the life of the party. Ken''s passions were history (especially World War 2), listening to rock ''n'' roll (favorites were The Beatles and The Moody Blues), politics, playing pickleball and water volleyball, and cheering for the Yankees, Islanders, Giants, and Knicks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Dave Fischetti, as well as his brother, David Fischetti. He leaves behind his beloved family: wife, Lynn Abelson; daughter, Lauren Fischetti and her husband, Anish Vaishnav; son, Jordan Fischetti and his wife, Afsheen Eeshat; sister, Carol Fischetti; and sister, Vera Foley and her husband, Doug Foley. A Memorial Service will be held at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home https://shookfarmer.com/home.html, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068, shookfarmer.com on Saturday, January 11, 2020. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 1:00 pm with a service beginning at 1:45 pm. A gathering honoring Ken will follow the service until 8:00 pm on Saturday and on Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Both gatherings will be at Lynn''s home (GPS address to 720 Valley Road in Clifton then get directions at the gate house for the parking lot).
