Helen Moschovich Roselle Park, New Jersey Obituary

Helen Moschovich

Helen V. Moschovich, (nee: Koza), 91, of Roselle Park, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 with her daughter by her side. Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 8:45am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 10am. Interment will follow to Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation is 2 to 5pm on Sunday. Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, she grew up as the youngest child in a loving family of six predeceased siblings: Theodore Koza, Jenny Kciuck, Wanda Knapp, Stephanie Hemmer, Frank Koza, and Walter Koza. She met her husband, the late John Moschovich, at Singer Manufacturing Co., where she worked for a decade. Helen was the only female on a floor full of men and passed by John’s desk daily. After months of seeing her, he finally asked her for a date. They were married in May 1950 and settled 67 years ago in Roselle Park. Helen made many lifelong friends through her neighborhood and was an active member of Church of the Assumption and its Rosary Society. She will be fondly remembered for her love of financial news, which inspired her to use an iPad at 88, her extraordinarily delicious cheesecake and apple pie and her admiration of her grandchildren, including traveling to Colombia last March to dance at her granddaughter’s wedding. Helen is survived by her children Nancy Niemaszyk of Roselle Park, NJ and Thomas Moschovich and his wife Linda of Traverse City, MI; two grandchildren Julianne Niemaszyk and her husband Daniel Vallejo of San Francisco, CA and John Moschovich of Chicago, IL.
