Lynn Rubino Obituary

Lynn Rubino, (nee: Derillo), 90, of Union, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 9:15am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 10:30am. Interment will follow to Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday 1 to 3 and 6 to 8pm. Lynn was born in 1929 and raised in Roselle Park, NJ. She graduated from Roselle Park High School and has been a member of Church of the Assumption since childhood. She resided in Union since 1951 with her husband Frank who was a building contractor. They were married for over 50 years and had a wonderful marriage. Lynn is predeceased by her beloved husband in 2004, Frank J. Rubino. She is survived by and raised three loving children, Denise Suskie and her husband John, Debra Rubilla and her husband Robert, and Frank Rubino and her ex daughter-in-law Lori Rubino, two adored grandsons Ryan and Frankie who she loved and cherished dearly. Lynn was an officer with the PTA at Washington School and Kawameeh Jr. High School in Union. She loved to design and create the themes for the dances at both schools and also helped with the Brownies, she was a leader for the Girl Scouts. Lynn was a very active member with many clubs in town. She joined the Golden Age Club in 1991 and later joined the Union Township Active Retirees. She was the trip coordinator for both clubs and an officer with the Union Township Active Retiree Club. Lynn was honored and elected “Senior of the Year” with the Union Township Active Retiree Club. She also belonged to the Tuesday Club and is the Spiritual Moderator for the Wednesday Club, member of the Galloping Hill Civic Association and AARP Club Chapter 426. Lynn took much pride in the Rosary Altar Society for 57 years at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park. Lynn is extremely grateful for the role that the Township of Union has played in her life. The town brought her an amazing group of friends and absolutely wonderful memories that she will hold near and dear to her heart forever.
