Felicisimo Luna Obituary

Felicisimo “Tom” Omaña Luna, Jr., 62 of Wood-Ridge, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born on March 9, 1958 in Rosario, Pasig City, Philippines to Felicisimo, Sr. and Raymunda Omaña-Luna. After having received his Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology in 1978 at the University of Santo Tomas, Felicisimo, along with his batch-mates, traveled to Iraq. In 1986, with the help of his best friend and former classmate, Larry Cuenca, Felicisimo finally found his way to the United States to begin a new life. Upon his arrival, Felicisimo worked several menial jobs before working as a licensed medical technologist at Hebrew Home for the Aged at Riverdale in Bronx, NY. It wasn’t until 1991 when he met Enriqueta “Kitty” at the same place of work; she would soon become the love of his life. They married in June of 1993 at the Iglesia Ni Cristo chapel of Long Island City, NY. Soon after, they settled in Belleville, NJ where they raised their three beautiful daughters. Even with three small kids at home, Felicisimo was determined to provide a better life for his new family. He continued to pursue his studies to become a Registered Nurse. In the early 2000s, he obtained his Associate’s degree in Nursing at Bergen Community College and later passed his Nursing Board Exam to receive his RN license. He later attained a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at The College of St. Elizabeth in 2016. Felicisimo was a hard worker and hero— a dedicated Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ. He worked very long hours, especially during the current pandemic. He prided himself on never being sick a day in his life, but this awful, aggressive virus took him away from us as he desperately tried to save the lives of so many others. He was a caring family man who devoted himself to his wife, his daughters, and his faith in the Iglesia Ni Cristo-Church of Christ. He was a Finance Officer and Deacon in the local congregation of Elizabeth and, later, a Head Deacon in the local congregation of North New Jersey. He also deeply loved and cared for his siblings, batch-mates, and family members back home in the Philippines. He will surely be missed by those who were lucky enough to know him and who respected him for the kindness he showed and love for his faith and his family. Felicisimo, Jr. is predeceased by his father, Felicisimo, Sr., mother, Raymunda Omaña-Luna, and siblings: Margarita Luna-Marcelo and Pablo Luna. He is survived by his wife, Enriqueta, of 26 years, children: Gabrielle Dawn, Gracielle Dane, Giselle Dana, and siblings: Antonio Luna, Angelita Luna-Macaspac, Aurora Luna-Pestio, and Elvira Omaña Luna. Funeral Service will be private followed by Private Burial on Wednesday, 4/15/2020
