Franklin Park: PAULINE (Griffin) HANEY died Tuesday June 19th, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 94 years old. Pauline graduated from University of New Hampshire in 1944. A talented math student, she was recruited by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Company to accelerate her degree so she could work as an engineer designing aircraft engines. She married Robert Haney in 1945 and moved to the New York area. They raised 6 children. Stephen Haney (Vicky), Pensacola FL; Susan Rudman (Mike), Plymouth MA, Ann Haney (Denis Dermody), Phoenix AZ,, Catherine Meyers (James), Cincinnati OH,, Martha Steiner (Alan), Franklin Park, NJ & Margaret Haney (James Donohue) New York, NY; In 1963, Pauline and Bob moved their family to North Brunswick, NJ where they lived for 50 years. Following her Masters Degree at Rutgers University, she taught at Rutgers Preparatory School for over 25 years. Throughout her life, Pauline remained a great intellect, a curious mind and a lover of the arts. She was a subscriber to the Metropolitan Opera, a season ticket holder to Rutgers football, and an avid bridge player. Pauline was an active member of Our Lady of Peace Church where she served as eucharistic minister and volunteer. She will be greatly missed. She radiated a gracious warmth and love to all and touched many lives. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert, and her a son-in-law Denis Dermody. She is survived by 1 sister Mary Krost, Decatur GA; 8 grandchildren: Sean, Andrew, Jessica, Kristen, Elizabeth, Maureen, Jack and Liam & 8 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, June 22 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St. Somerset. Funeral mass will be Saturday, June 23 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Peace Church, Rte. 130, North Brunswick. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to North Brunswick Public Library in her name.
