Sharon Harlan Somerset NJ Mrs. Sharon Harlan passed away on Sunday September 1, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 54 years old. Mrs. Harlan was born in Point Pleasant and was raised in Middletown. She graduated from Middletown South High School and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance degree from the University of Richmond. She was employed as an Office Manager at Katchen Financial Group in Bridgewater. Mrs. Harlan was a longtime parishioner of St. Matthias Church in Somerset and a longtime member of the Cedar Hill Swim Club. She will be remembered for her vibrant, outgoing personality, her sense of humor and a radiant smile that could light up a room. She loved spending time with her family, hanging out at the Jersey Shore, and dancing to Motown. She is survived by her husband of 29 years Michael Harlan of Somerset and their children Victoria and Jack Harlan. She is also survived by her parents Philip and Carol DeStasio of Middletown and sisters Debbie DeStasio and her husband Gus and Linda Ogilvie and her friend Flo and her in laws George and Marsha Harlan of Bridgewater along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Services will begin on Thursday morning at 10 AM at The Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street followed by a 10:30 AM funeral mass at St. Matthias Church in Somerset. Committal services will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum in Piscataway. Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in Mrs. Harlan’s name to the St. Matthias School Tuition Angels Fund at 168 John F. Kennedy Boulevard Somerset NJ 08873.
