Frank Mikorski

Frank A. Mikorski South Plainfield- Frank A. Mikorski, ,84, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Berkeley Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Berkeley Heights. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Frank graduated from Perth Amboy High School and had been a resident of South Plainfield for more then 50 years. Upon graduating from High School, Frank had attended Rutgers University earning a Bachelor and Master’s Degree. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in WWII prior to his discharge. He retired from ABB Lummus Crest Inc., in Bloomfield where he worked as Director of Employee Relations and Administration Worldwide. The company was in the Process Design Engineering and Construction Industry with offices throughout the United States and Europe. Frank served as a faculty member at Rutgers University School of Business, evening division from 1967-1976, Fairleigh Dickinson University Graduate and Undergraduate program from 1975-1988 and Rider University from 1989-1997. He enjoyed his many years of dedicated volunteering as a member of the NJ Business Association, NJ Employer Legislative Council, Bloomfield High School Education Advisory Board, United Way of South Plainfield and Bloomfield, Vice President Middlesex County School Board Association from 1995-1996, Board of Governors at Atlantic Healthcare Hospitals (Morristown, Overlook, Mountainside, and Passaic General Hospitals), Vice Chairman of Finance at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, AARP State Legislative Council President, and South Plainfield Board of Education 1993-2003, with three years as President, as well as his serving on the South Plainfield Education Foundation. Mr. Mikorski was also a longtime and faithful communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church in South Plainfield and will be fondly remembered for his dedication to the boro of South Plainfield, but most importantly, his dedication to his wife, Florence. Florence died on September 21, 2012 and Thursday, December 20, 2012 is their wedding anniversary which they celebrated in heaven. Predeceased by his sister, Stella Jankowski, Frank is survived by his daughter; Linda Tuleya and her husband, Robert, three grandchildren and their spouses; Sarah and James Gaspero, Christopher and Melissa Tuleya, and Jonathan and Stepf Tuleya, five great grandchildren; Owen, Allison, Jason, Jake and Charlotte. Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 9:30 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in South Plainfield. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 6-9 PM and Saturday from 8:30 - 9:30 AM in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, 210 Kosciusko Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
