Daniel G. Ruddy of the Leisuretown section of Southampton passed away into God's loving and eternal care Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly. He would have been 83 on the 22nd of this month.
Born in Fairhaven, N.J., he lived in Hoboken for 28 years, and later in Chicago and Ohio before moving to Cinnaminson for 20 years. He had been a Leisuretown resident for the last 20 years.
Mr. Ruddy was a retired printer and had worked lastly for the Rodel Company in Newark, Del. Over the years, he also worked in sales and marketing in the printing industry.
Mr. Ruddy was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the Holy Eucharist Parish. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a past president of the Leisuretown Association. A true outdoorsman in his earlier years, he enjoyed kayaking, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anne (Austin) Ruddy; a daughter, Carolyn Sigler (Ken) of Palmyra; a son, Gerald Ruddy (Terre) of North Carolina; and a grandson, Trevor Ruddy. He was also the brother of Margaret Ruddy and the late Virginia Croly.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Eucharist Church in Tabernacle. Visitation with the family will be from 10 to 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
