John Flood

John F. Flood, 88 of Holiday City Berkeley section of Berkeley Twsp. died on Thursday January 22, 2009 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. Born in Philadelphia, PA he lived the Frankford Section of Philadelphia before moving to Holiday City Berkeley 17 years ago. Mr. Flood served in the US Army during WW II. He was an Insurance Agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Philadelphia, PA for 30 years. He was a Parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, NJ. A member of the Ocean County Barber Shop Quartet, The Oceanaires, Holiday City Berkeley Golf Club and Irish Club. He enjoyed golf and singing. Predeceased by his Daughter Linda Goldsmith. Surviving is his wife Dorothea (nee Rorer). Two Sons Steve of Maryland and Jack of Philadelphia, PA Two Daughters Sue McCormick of Springfield, PA and Diane Roach of Horsham, PA. 14 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Family will receive friends Monday 10am until 11am at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow to St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, NJ at 11:30am. Committal will be Private. Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 24 P.O.
