Dr. Warren Gray ,DDS, 87, of Del Ray Beach, Florida passed peacefully on March 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Warren, the son of Leonard and Miriam Gray, was born in Newark and raised in Millburn, NJ. In 1953 He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1954 he married his childhood sweetheart, Marilyn (nee Dorflaufer) and they just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. In 1957 Warren graduated from the University of Pa., Dental School .From 1957-to 1959 Warren served in the United States Naval Reserves Dental Corps, Pensacola, Fl. In 1960 Warren started his own General Dental Practice in Millburn, NJ on Millburn Avenue where he practiced for the next 40 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the ADA. AGD, NJDA, Essex County Dental Society, Newark Dental Club, NJ Branch of American Society of Preventative Dentistry. In 1992 Warren was installed as Fellow American College of Dentistry. He was also listed in Who’s Who in the East since 1975, Who’s Who in New Jersey since 1992, Who’s Who in America Jewry since 1978 and Community Leader of America since 1969. From 1996 to 2000 Warren served as Senior International Vice President of B’nai B’rith; from 1988-1992 he also served as Chairman of B’nai B’rith International Community & Volunteer Services Commission. From 1995 to 2000 he received a Mayoral appointment to the Community Services Award Committee. From 1970 to 1974 He served as Chairman of Board of Recreation Commissioners for Millburn Township and in 1972 he served as President of NJ State Board of Recreation Commissioners. In 1965 Warren was the Founder and First President of the Millburn Youth Employment Service; in 1969 he was the First President on NJ State Employment Services; 1965 he was the Chairman of Township Tri-Centennial Historic Landmarks Commission and from 1970-1972 he was a member of the Millburn-Short Hills Narcotics Commission. In 1969 he was the Founder of the Junior Basketball Program & Coached 8th Grade Traveling Team and from 1960-1995 Warren served as the Schools Dentist and from 2000 to 2002 he also served on The Faculty at NJSM&D Hygiene School . In 1970 He was Honored by Israel Bonds and in 2001 he was inducted in the Millburn Athletic Hall of Fame. Warren is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn of 65 years, his Son Scott Gray and his wife Donna and his daughter Lennie Chamish and her husband Larry. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Brian, Stacy and Adam Chamish and Jamie and Danielle Gray. Warren was predeceased by his brother, Norman Gray.
