John Ferguson Adie, 76 of Brielle passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Raised in Glen Ridge, John settled in Brielle in 1966. John had been a self employed salesman for his entire working career. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Joan Sigler Adie, his 4 beloved children; John “Jack” F. Adie III and wife Renee of Southington, CT., Jeffrey S. Adie of Newbury, NH, Donna L. Adams and husband Mike of Potomac, MD, and Lisa A. Nolan and husband Paul of Brielle. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; Jonathon and Bryan Adie, Lauren and Kaelen Adie, Joe and Maggie Adams, and Ryan, Kelly, Erin and Cristin Nolan. He is also survived by his brother James and wife Kathy Adie of Whitehouse Station, NJ, two nephews Christopher Adie and his wife Jillian and Bryan Adie and a cousin Rebecca Richardson of Mentor, OH. The Adie family will receive friends on Sunday, September 4, 2011 between the hours of 1-3pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Private committal will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Vic Kubu Long Blue Line Scholarship, P.O. Box 616, Manasquan, NJ 08736, or to a charity of choice.
