FOLEY, James J., age 75 of Hawthorne, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Born in New York, NY on September 26, 1937, Jim was a resident of Washington Twp. and Mahwah before moving to Hawthorne. Jim was a 1959 Graduate of St. John’s University in New York City. He was an accountant for many years and in his later career was the Business Manager for Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Associates in Emerson. He retired in 2003. He was a parishioner of St Anthony’s Parish in Hawthorne and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Washington Twp. Surviving are his devoted daughters, Ann Foley and Glenn Hartell of Rockland County, NY, Jane and her husband Matt Fenkart and Christine and her husband Tim Carone all of Hawthorne. Jim (Poppa) also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Jack and Caitlin. Also surviving is his sister Kay Morrissey of the Bronx, NY. Jim was pre-deceased by his loving wife Patricia (nee Mahody) in 2009. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013, 9:00 AM at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, 276 Diamond Bridge Avenue, Hawthorne, NJ. Interment will follow in the Redeemer Cemetery in Mahwah. Visiting is Friday, April 19, 2013, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hawthorne High School Marching Band, 160 Parmelee Avenue, Hawthorne, NJ 07506.
