Banta, Milton S., Jr. “Scotty”, age 74, of Midland Park died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. Born in Hackensack, Scotty was a lifelong resident of Midland Park. Scotty was a graduate of Pompton Lakes High School and a US Army veteran. Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was the Post Master for the US Postal Service in Midland Park and most recently, he was a
driver, delivering flowers for Wyckoff Florist. Scotty loved to spend his free time fishing and gardening. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Audrey (nee Blom) of Midland Park and his loving son and daughter; Cory Banta and Dana Banta both of Kearny, Scotty’s step children; Ellen (Ed) Tryon of Oakland, Jennie (John) Keene of Midland Park, Darlene (Jim) Dykhouse of Glendale, AZ. He is also survived by three brothers; Larry (Lucille) Banta, North Haledon, Robert (Jo) Banta of Toms River and Gary (Lisa) Banta of Mahwah, and his sister in law and brother in law, James and Andrea Marshall of North Carolina. Scotty will be dearly missed by his 7 Grandchildren; Amy (Leo) Pestano, Jonathon Keene, Megan Tryon, Kaitlyn Keene, James Dykhouse, Kelly Tryon and Shealin Banta and his 2 Great Grandchildren; Jeremy and Ella Pestano. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Scotty is predeceased by his 1st wife, Lynn R. (nee Ducceschi) in 1980 and his parents, Milton S. and Evelyn (nee Van Dyke) Banta. Funeral Service Wednesday 10:30 am at the funeral home with the interment following in Laurel Grove Memorial Park Cemetery, Totowa.
