Obituary for Pearl M. Klingen

KLINGEN, Pearl (nee Meyer) age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 02, 2015. Born in Midland Park, Pearl grew up in Hawthorne and lived the majority of her life in Midland Park before moving to the Christian Health Care Center in 2006. Pearl was a long time member of the Valley Bible Chapel in Washington Twp, and more recently attended Hawthorne Gospel Church. After raising her family, she volunteered at the Valley Hospital for many years in the transport department and was later employed there. While at the Christian Health Care Center, Pearl volunteered as a reader for kindergarten classes at the Sicomac School in Wyckoff. She was pre-deceased by Jack Klingen, her loving husband of 43 years in 1986. Surviving are her devoted children, Jack and his wife Rosemary, Don and his wife Marion, Dorothy and her husband Roman Nykyforuk, Tom and his wife Eileen, Bob and his wife Charlene and Dianne and her husband Don Bishard. Pearl also leaves 13 adoring grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, George Meyer, Jr., Donald Meyer and Grace West. The Klingen family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 09, 2015, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers; memorial contributions may be made to the Liam the Lion Fund, 162 Arnold Street, Riverside, RI 02195 or the Christian Health Care Center Foundation, 301 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
