Obituary for Peter Thompson

Peter Thompson passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the age of 75. Born in Lodi, NJ he was a longtime resident of Ramsey, NJ. Peter was successful in the banking industry working for United Jersey Bank, Summit Bank and Fleet Bank as their Senior Vice President. He went on to USA Security Services Inc., and C. Raimondo and Sons Construction Company, Inc., where he was their Chief Financial Officer. Before retirement in 2005, Peter was the Vice President of the Commercial Lending Department at Sovereign Bank. Peter was an avid golfer and was passionate about antiques and other collectibles.
His wife Dolores Thompson predeceased him in 2007. Peter is survived by his daughter Debra Bornemann, her husband Bob, two grandsons: Robbie and Brandon, and two brothers: Thomas Thompson and John Thompson. Peter was lucky to have found love for the second time with his sweetheart Portia Carella.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 4-8 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The services will be held Monday at 11:30 AM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home and the interment will follow at Redeemer Cemetery in Mahwah.
