Irma Irene Haden Obituary

Irma Irene Hayden, 96, of River Ridge Living Center passed away December 31, 2019. Born in Amsterdam, New York on September 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth “Bessie” Smith McKittrick. Irma moved to Connecticut in 1938 and was a graduate of Enfield High School class of 1941. She returned to Amsterdam in 1946. Upon her return to Amsterdam, she started dating Richard Hayden and they married on March 20, 1948. They had been married 51 years prior to Dick’s passing in 1999. Irma worked for the New York State Department of Taxation & Finance and retired in 1983. Irma was a member of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, CSEA Retiree Club, and the Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course. Irma is survived by two sons and their spouses, Richard and Robbyn Hayden of Shrub Oak, New York, and Michael and Nora Hayden of Greenville, South Carolina. Seven grandchildren and their spouses, Richard and Nicolette Hayden, Marissa and Daniel Greenwood, Ryan and Heather Hayden, Caitlin and Dennis Thompson, Casey and Thomas Marchetti, Katherine and Brooks Gallman, and Brigid and Allen Hicks. Fourteen and a half great grandchildren, Brady, Cameron, Declan, Finn, Fiona, Harper, Hayleigh, Jacob, Killian, Leah, Oliver, Ryan, Jr., Reily, Toby, and one on the way, step-grandchildren and their spouses, Korynn and Jay O’Shea and family, Evan and Estrella Fernandez, Amy Fernandez and family and Katie Fernandez. Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady, NY. There are no calling hours. Private graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam www.rileymortuaryinc.com
