Kathleen A. Kowalski

Kathleen A. Kowalski, 68, of Clarke Avenue, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday afternoon October 18, 2019 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY; surrounded by her family. Born in Amsterdam on September 25, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Genevieve Ertl Fegel. Kathy received her education and graduated from Perth Central School. She also continued her studies at Spencer Business Institute in Schenectady. Kathy was employed as a Teacher’s Aide in the Greater Amsterdam School District. She also held several positions and greatly supported the Teacher’s Aide Union. Kathy loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren; she loved to cook, shop and awed many people with her porch decorations for different holiday seasons. Kathy lived everyday to the fullest. Kathy is survived by her husband, Tom whom she married August 25, 1972, two daughters, Tanya Urbanczyk (Jeff) and Erin Ilagan, four grandchildren, Randi and Rhys Urbanczyk and Emiliana and Noah Ilagan, brother-in-law, William Kowalski and he sweet dog, Bella. Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady. A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held in the near future at a time, date and place to be announced.
