Beverly May (Whitney) Harding
August 6, 1935 – December 15, 2018
Beverly May Whitney Harding, 83 of Angelica, NY entered into eternal rest with our Lord and the love of her life Tom on Saturday, December 15, 2019 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born on August 6, 1935 in Bolivar, NY, she was the daughter of Victor C. Whitney and Gladys D. (Beckwith) Whitney. On August 14, 1956 she married her true love Thomas Lowell Harding, Sr., who proceeded her on September 13, 1988.
Bev graduated from Bolivar Central School, St. James School of Nursing, then received her Master’s in Education from Buffalo State. She was a school nurse/teacher at Cuba Central School for several years. Then Bev when on to teach the RN program at Alfred State, followed by the LPN program at BOCES in Belmont, NY retiring July 1, 1991. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her hobbies included camping, reading, crocheting, knitting, sewing and quilting. In fact she made sure all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren received a handmade quilt from her including the most recent great-granddaughter born on November 3, 2018.
She is survived by her son, Thomas (Linda) Harding Jr., daughters Victoria (Paul Victor) Aylor and Corrine (Eric) Collins-Wisor. Fifteen grandchildren: Amber (Late George) McLaughlin, Richard Harding, Adrienne (Brian) Hill, Sarah (Dylan) Collins-Brzozowski, Joseph (Michelle) Harding, David (Chelsey) Aylor, Sheena (Kevin Hodge) Collins, Timothy (Bonnie Jean) Harding, Stephanie (Brenton Hausladen) Collins, Erica (Joshua Shilling) Wisor , Samantha (Steve Scott) Collins, Danielle (Kyle Kube), Marc Harding and Erik (Sarah) Harding and Jonathan Webb-Aylor. Seventeen great-grandchildren. Her brothers: Victor (MaryAnn) Whitney, Larry (Ruth) Whitney and Sheriff Ricky (Lois) Whitney. Several cousins, nieces and nephews. Her Florida family at Adelaide Shores RV Park where she taught quilting in her retirement. Her lifelong nursing classmates. All her loving neighbors and friends, especially Jan Aylor who was always there to lend a helping hand.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband are sister-in-law’s: Janet Whitney and Delores Whitney. Brother-in-Laws: John Harding, and Clair Harding.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 11am to 1 pm at Brown and Powers Funeral Home in Angelica. Following funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Park Circle,in Angelica at 2 pm with Father Richard Hamlin officiating. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn cemetery Angelica, NY.
