Clarence E. "Butch" Sheer, of Wethersfield Rd., North Java, died Saturday July 15, 2017 in Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw at the age of 76. He was born June 7, 1941 in Buffalo a son of the late Clifford and Florence (nee Rudnicki) Sheer. He was a graduate of Attica High School and spent a period of time in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a mechanic for Sisti Motors in Gowanda and for Gernatt Asphalt in Collins. He was a member of SS Joachim & Anne Parish in Varysburg, was a member of the NRA, SCOPE, was an avid toy tractor collector and owned over 20 Cub Cadets. He is survived by his wife - Patricia (nee Day) Sheer whom he married June 8, 1963; a son - Stephen Sheer of Arcade; a daughter - Suzanne (Don Schaus) Grover of Chaffee; a grandson - Mike (Melissa) Grover, a brother - Ron (Judy) Sheer of Florida, a sister - Janet Sheer of Florida and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday July 19, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at W. S. Davis Funeral Home, Inc., 358 W. Main St., Arcade. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday July 20, 2017 at 11 am in St. Mary's Church, 417 W. Main St., Arcade. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, North Java.
