Gary R. Bruce

Gary R. Bruce of Woodard Rd., Delevan died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Bertrand-Chaffee Hospital in Springville at the age of 72. He was born March 4, 1945 in Ithaca, NY a son of the late Mark and Ruth (Sample) Bruce. He was a member of the Yorkshire Free Methodist Church and served in the United States Army. Gary was a graduate of West Valley High School and received his Bachelor's degree at SUNY Fredonia. He enjoyed boating and camping. He was a math and computer teacher at Pioneer Central School until he retired in 2000. After he retired, he was a math professor at GCC until 2012. Gary is survived by his wife of 33 years: Robynn (Hunsinger) Bruce whom he married April 20, 1984; his children: Kordell Bruce of Delevan, Brady Bruce of Delevan, DeaAnna (Jim) Dille of Youngstown, OH, Daryn (Madonna) Smith of Dandridge, TN, Darci (Lenny) Ribblett of Springville, CarolAnn (Patrick) Grabowski of Ozark, AL, Christopher Lexer of Yorkshire, Jeffrey Lexer of Boston, NY; his siblings: Jean (Ray) Jordan of Franklinville and Elaine Bruce of Colorado; also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter - Jody Lexer. Friends may call Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 11 AM - 2PM at the Yorkshire Free Methodist Church where a Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM. Pastor Mark Weber will officiate.
