Maria E. Falk, of Brown Schoolhouse Rd., Freedom, died Saturday August 13, 2011 at The Pines of Machias at the age of 105. She was born June 16, 1906 in Buffalo a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Stirgil Funk. She was a homemaker and member of SS Peter & Paul Church (now St. Mary's) in Arcade. She was a former member of the Holy Family Church in Machias in the 1950's and their Altar and Rosary Society. Her husband Sylvester Falk whom she married August 31, 1929 in Gowanda died in 1989. She is survived by two daughters: Monna (Lee) Hillard of Utah and Sandra (Edward) Franklin of Freedom; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Elizabeth Saunders and Geraldine Sipple and two brothers: Alvin Funk and Edward Funk. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gowanda.
