Ronald E. Wiedemann, of Chaffee, New York, passed away Wednesday April 19, 2017 in the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home, Springville at the age of 87. He was born June 18, 1929 in Sardinia, New York a son of the late LeGrant "Shine" and Anna (nee Hoch) Wiedemann. Ron graduated from Arcade Central School and joined the Army where he served under the U.S. Occupation Forces in Germany from 1951-53. He was stationed in Manheim, Germany where he was involved in aircraft tracking. After being discharged he was a member of the Army Reserves for five years. Ron was a member of Sardinia American Legion Post #1131. After the Army Ron attended Bryant and Stratton Business School where he earned a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He was employed at several local school districts including Lake Shore, Letchworth and Maryvale. A lifelong Chaffee resident Ron loved to travel and he visited the European countries Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Romania and the Netherlands while researching his family tree. He is survived by a brother - Richard (Marie) Wiedemann of Arcade; a sister - Patricia Mitrowski of Arcade and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers - Robert (Kathleen) Wiedemann, Alan (Betty) Wiedemann and a brother-in-law - Edward Mitrowski. At his request, Ron's body was donated to the University of Buffalo for the advancement of science. He will be interred at the Sardinia Rural Cemetery and a memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
