Hudson Falls Bernard Melvin Dutcher Sr., 73, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Born June 17, 1943 in Granville he was the son of the late Melvin and Dora (Moffitt) Dutcher. Bernard enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, coffee at Stewarts and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Cornerstone Outreach Center and many volunteer fire companies. In addition to his parents, Bernard was predeceased by his wife, Gail P. (Devino) Dutcher; brother, James L Dutcher; 2 brother-in-laws and nephews. Left to cherish his memory include his girlfriend, Erika St. John of Hudson Falls; his sons, Melvin J. Dutcher and his girlfriend Mary of Hudson Falls, Bernard M. Dutcher and his girlfriend Martina of Fort Edward, Gordon E. Dutcher and his wife Barbara of Corinth, Michael A. Dutcher and his wife Melody of Queensbury, and John P. Dutcher and his wife Vivian of Colonie; stepsons, Gerhard St. John and his girlfriend Dawn of West Virgina, Fred, Charlie, Jim, Marvin, Sam, and Lee Devino; sisters, Mabel Washburn of Granville, Venita Van Ness and her husband Darryl of Florida and Rose Washburn of Cambridge; brother, Kenneth Dutcher and his wife Mary of Queensbury; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 4-7p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 123 Main St. Argyle, NY 12809. A celebration of Bernard’s life will be held at 7p.m. following the calling hours at the funeral home with Derik Bartholomew officiating. Graveside Services will be conducted at 10am on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Rupert Street Cemetery, Rupert, VT. In lieu of flowers donation in Bernard’s memory may be made to Country Round and Square Dance Association 24 County Route 47, Argyle, New York 12809 or a church of one’s choice. The family would like to thank Phyllis and Patti from High Peaks Hospice and all of the friends and family for the visits, cards and prayers.
