Riley Snell Obituary

Argyle Riley E. Snell Sr. “Bop-Bop”, 77, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness. Born in Hollis, OK on December 18, 1936, he was the son of the late Lee and Daisy (Harris) Snell. He attended school in Houston, TX. Riley enlisted in the United State Marine Corps on December 18, 1953 and served his country for 4 years. On January 1, 1978, he married Phyllis Kinney in Houston, TX. Riley was a member of the Argyle Presbyterian Church and enjoyed cooking for various church functions. His other enjoyments were making jewelry from rocks and crystals, rock hounding, and he was an avid reader. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 36 years, Phyllis Snell, children, Riley E. Snell Jr. “Ed” and wife Mika, Kyle Hoffer and wife Ellen, Shane Hoffer and wife Nicole, Brandy Snell and significant other Chris Laursen, grandchildren, Austin, Zach and Adalyn Snell, Matthew, Ashleigh, and Allison Hoffer, and Summer and Kate Hoffer, siblings, James Snell and wife Beverly, Ruth Piper, Rena Smith and husband Willie, Lovie Harris and husband Peter all of TX, and Jocie Kaufeler and husband Bob of AZ, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 4pm-6pm on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 123 Main Street, Argyle, NY 12809. A memorial service will be conducted at 12:30pm on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Argyle Presbyterian Church, 48 Main Street Argyle, NY 12809, with Rev. Stephen McLean, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald B.H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
