Fort Edward William Arthur Harvey, 82, passed away peacefully on October, 13, 2016 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Clarksburg, MA on September 30, 1934, he was the son of the late, William C. and Grace B. (Blair) Harvey. Bill attended Argyle High School but left before graduation to help take care of his family by taking a job as a logger. Bill owned and operated his own business, Bills Garage, in Fort Edward for many years. In 1956, Bill married the love of his life, Dorothy Brayman, at the Durkeetown Baptist Church and they spent 60 loving years together. Bill loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. Most of all he loved the time spent with his family. He enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as a PFC in the Korean War and traveled to Japan. He is also a member of the American Legion. In addition to his parent’s, Bill is predeceased by his son, Gerald Arthur Harvey. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Dorothy; his two sons, Mark Harvey and David Harvey; his daughters, Laurel Dixon and her husband, Bruce and Darlene Dewey; his sisters, Martha Hanna and her husband, Bill, Shirley Benson, Virginia Lewis and her husband, Ralph and Maryanne Harvey; his grandchildren, Gared Harvey, Amanda Perkins and her husband, Sanford, Adam Dewey and his wife, Tamara, Holly Dewey, Robert Dixon and Nathan Dixon; his great grandchildren, Dustin Dewey, Aurora Dewey, Xavier Perkins and Noah Perkins; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
