Theodor Macyczko (Tato), 98, of Auburn, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Auburn Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He will join his beautiful wife Maria in heaven after living a wonderful life of 70 years together. He was a native of Ukraine, emigrating to the United States with his wife Maria in 1952, following several years in Ascnaffenburg, Germany. He was retired from Auburn Plastics. Theodor was a man of the Lord, a very devout Ukrainian Catholic. He was an active member of SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, and a member of the church Holy Name Society. He will always be remembered as a stoic gentleman, with a kind demeanor and a hear t of gold. He was his family’s biggest hero and pillar of strength. He experienced many hardships, and persevered through all of them. Ted is survived by his loving daughters, Julie Lupo and Anne Kott, and his very special son-in-law James Kott, all of Auburn, his granddaughters Melissa Lupo of Auburn, and Crystal Lupo and her husband Jason Stroman of Alabama and great grandchildren Nico, Rocco, Ronin and Agapi. Very dear to his heart was his great niece Lily, Great nephew Alex and their father Eric Howard. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his angels Phoebe, Isabella and Hildie, five brothers and sisters in Ukraine, his niece and godchild Darlene Howard, nephew Stephen Fromel, and his brother-in-law Stephen Fromel and wife Julia. A very special thank you to a dear friend of the family Antonia Rotko for her years of friendship and kindness, the “angels” in his life, Tina, Vincent and Willow who brought joy and smiles to Theodor in his last years, and to Deacon Michael Evans for his weekly visits when Ted could no longer attend services and to New Beginnings and their amazing and loving caregivers. They were a true gift to his dignity and quality of life. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in SS Peter & Paul Church. Funeral services will follow. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Contributions may be made to SS Peter & Paul Church in his memory.
